 The Sacred Offering— Romance Writing Prompt #2

“You don’t have to do this.”

“You don’t understand. I was raised to do this.”

Character A  has known since birth that they would be The Offering—a sacrifice meant to appease the gods that protect their people. They’ve accepted their fate. Everyone has. Until Character B, a former “Offering” who escaped the cult years ago, sneaks back in to save them. Character B pleads with Character A to run, to fight, to live. But Raine is torn. Leaving means betraying everything they’ve ever believed. Staying means certain death. And worst of all? If they run, Character B will be marked for death in their place.
